Scene Fashion![]() Whats actually classed as Scene fashion seems to be completely un-defined. One thing that Scene kids dont mind wearing is brand labels, something that other cultures such as Goth and Emo would stay clear of. But how can someone actually dress Scene? Well it seems to be the finished look as opposed to the actual make of what your wearing. Scene GirlsScene fashion has developed to include many different styles and denominations. The girls seem to go for anything to achieve the original look by wearing anything from ripped fishnets, tiny shorts and dresses to metal band t-shirts.
Hair and makeup also play a very important part in looking Scene. Unlike with Emo fashion the eyes are not usually the center piece of attention when it comes to choosing your make up look but instead a general Scene style across the whole face seems the norm here. ![]() As for hair it's similar to Emo hair styles but nearly always straightened and often multicoloured with short hair styles being very teased in the back and choppy. The most common base color is black or bleach blond, but streaks are also very popular. One thing that's uncommon in Scene is natural colours such as browns being pulled off well, it happens but if it isn't black or dyed it probably wont be classed as Scene by others. ![]() Piercings, as with all "alternative" cultures are common in Scene fashion, but normally restricted to facial piercings. Scene GuysFor the guys, the hair is similar to Emo, in fact i cant personally tell the difference between Scene and Emo mens hair. Tall spikes at the back mixed with straightened or scruffed hair is the way to go, and Scene boys also wear makeup like eye liner and nail polish, but it is not as common on Scene guys as it is with Scene girls. As for the clothing they tend to wear tight jeans, occasionally cowboy boots or something similarly ironic. The clothing of Scene guys doesnt seem to be too different from Emo guys. By the way if you have anything to say about that as im sure many people will disagree, theres a form at the bottom of the page were you can set me straight. ![]() One thing to keep in mind with Scene fashion is that what type of look is actually classed as Scene is forever changing. Because there isnt a defining look like there is with goth, whats classed as Scene now might be outdated in a few years, or probably months, and for that reason its important to stay on top of what people are classing as Scene. It would be better to try to start your own personal version of Scene as alot of people will class you as a poser if you just copy a "common" dress sense.
