Long Emo hairstyles

Long Emo hairstyles are so much more common amoungst the girls, so im gonna go over some of the main techniques used to create these styles and you can just take what you want to blend it into your own unique style, whether your a girls or not.

Layered

Layered hair has got to be the most popular feature in long Emo hair. Layers add so many oppertunities to be creative with colour and blending the layers with other features such as spikes and the shaggy effect can really make you something unique. As for layers its often a good idea to decide what you want and then take a few pictures down to your stylest to make sure its done properly.

But if your trying to decide what would look best then just experiment. Try shaping your hair with some spray until it looks like its layered and then add the other effects till you find something you like. Maybe take a photo of yourself with your "test" hair and take that to a stylest and explain what you want.

Colour

There are various advantages to having long hair, one of which is theres more possible styles and more oppertunities to be creative with colour. But just because you have more hair to color doesn't mean you should go over the top. Using color as a shade for half your hair or just 1 layer works well, as does using it to highlight features, such as coloring the bangs to frame the face for example.

Everyone has their own colours that suit them and finding yours shouldn't be difficult. Try using a temporary spray dye to see what colors work best for you, and you get a much better spray dye effect if you spray it on damp hair and then comb it through, then let it dry naturally or with a hairdryer. The end result looks pretty good but the whole point if to experiment and find out what works best for you.
