Gothic make up tips

These Gothic make up tips are pretty straight forward, but one thing about Gothic fashion is if you do it wrong its very, very obvious. No one wants to be labelled as a poser or unoriginal, so hopefully these tips will inspire you to come up with your own unique style.

Paleness

Goth make up tipsLets starts from the beginning shall we, with the pale appearance. Use a good base as you generally get what you pay for, a cheaper base wont last as long or look as good. Try using a base that's just one or two shades lighter than your skin tone, and apply as much white powder over it that you need to create your desired shade.

After spending money on a decent base, take the trouble to apply it evenly. It's appalling how many Goths overlook something so basic and vital to their look. Equally bad is the tendency to over powder, so be careful not to do this.

Eye liner

As for eye-liner, liquid is best. Pencils also work well but cheap pencils appear faint and will smudge after an hour. Dont be afraid to do something original with your eye makeup like adding little designs at the corners of your eyes.

Lips

Try to find a shade of lipstick that's a little different. The classic shade is dark red, but try experimenting with all kinds of colours, but just remember that its got to go with the overall theme colour of your whole appearance. Try applying it with a lip brush for a more precise and severe effect.

The video below is a good lip tutorial that's well explained.
