Emo girls

Emo girls, i mean scene girls, wait, no, definitely Emo. Yes there is a difference which is what anybody calling themselves either Emo or Scene will tell you. But what is it exactly? How can you tell the two apart?
Well if you belong to either culture I'm sure you will have your own specific answer. But I'm just going to over some things about Emo girls here for those who want to know about them. By the way if you disagree with anything I've said no this page feel free to disagree by using the form at the bottom of the page which you can find Here!

Typical Emo girl features- Hair styles
Generally for the girls the hair often has lots of volume, teasing is a common method of achieving this, especially at the back of the head. Bangs covering half the face is also a common feature, but there are so many different Emo hair styles its really difficult to specify which ones fall under the Emo category and not the Scene one as the same styles are used and accepted in both cultures.

- Hair colours
For the guys the most popular color by far is black, but this doesn't really apply to the girls as they generally have more options open to them. Black and blonde are common base colours, but the amount of highlight colours which can be used is massive. There are some many different ways you can colour your hair and be classed as Emo. Its really a case of the whole appearance as opposed to just the hair color.
- Clothing

This is probably the biggest factor in the difference between Emo and Scene girls. Although skinny jeans are worn by many different types of people, they are by far the most common in Emo. As for wearing brand labels such as Nike and Adidas and other major labels, this is considered by many to be a no no. Emo girls tend to want to be as unique as possible and being a conformist by wearing such labels is classed as very un-emo.
I'm not going to name any Emo labels as to many people will tell me I'm wrong, also because its a fashion the problem is brands simply go out of fashion and become redundant within the culture. Its up to you how much you want to get involved within the whole "what labels should i wear?" subject. But then again isn't the whole point in being Emo to avoid such behaviour? Am i wrong? Form at the bottom yo!
- Make-up
Pretty much the same as Scene, if you want to see an explanation and a couple of good tutorials then check out this page on Emo make up!
- Music
Now this one is gonna be very difficult to explain, the thing is lots of Emo people like loads of different types of music and bands. There are some bands out there which can be classed as Emo music, such as my chemical romance, Moss Icon, City of Caterpillar, Rites of Spring and Poison the Well. But then again, as with fashion these will change all the time and something I've noticed in Emo culture is when a band gets to popular its not classed as Emo any more, which seems a bit daft to me but there you go.
