Emo Fashion

Emo fashion is something that some people believe doesnt exist. Now before you gasp, say "what?" and stare at the screen too intently, what i mean by that is the term Emo comes from emotive hardcore and how can clothes be emotive hardcore? what people often refer to as Emo fashions is actually scene.

However thats not to say that something spawned from a state of mind cannot have its own defining dress sense. By the way if you wanna let me have it for saying theres no such thing as an Emo fashion theres a form at the bottom of the page which you can find HERE. But please be creative if you want to give your opinion.

As for the fashion, there are only characteristics to talk about. First of all skinny jeans are really popular, on both the guys and the girls, as are Emo styls of make up and hair. But if theres one thing to remember about the clothes, the goal is to be as creative and unique as possible. One of my Emo friends put it quite simply, "just dress as sick as possible".

As for brands, theres so many that people class as Emo clothing labels and they will be listed here at a later date so stand by yo!

Emo Accessories

No matter what kind of clothes you've got, not set-up can be complete without some accessories. Below is a quick list of some of the things that won't go a miss.

• Tattoos, but be careful with this one, dont just get a tattoo to try to look more Emo unless you really want one.
• As for shoe's, canvas or skate shoes always work. But choose the right make such as Converse or Vans in a low or high tops style.
• Wristbands, necklace's, bangles, badges, pins etc....



• If you wear glasses, the general look is kinda thick and nerdy, and black or white are the best colors for glasses.
• If you have a backpack for whatever reason, make sure its plastered in things like badges and graffiti, song lyrics or anti-society slogans are a good idea for this.
• Fingerless gloves
• Belts, especially the studded kind with large interesting belt buckles.
• Stripy socks for the girls, odd colors is best
• Multicoloured hair accessories such as clips on the girls and even the guys
• Piercings and stretched ears, snakebites or a ring on either side of the lip are the most popular.

Emo Makeup

As for makeup's place within Emo fashion, its all about the eyes. Thats not to say it isnt to be used elsewere. Obviously the girls will go for pretty much everything on the face when it comes to make up, and even the guys are quite familiar with nail polish and eye liner. But the main thing to concertrate on here would be the eyes as these always stand out the most.

Common colours include black, red, blue and green eyelines and/or eye shadow. When choosing a certain design for the eyes the best piece of advice is to just experiment, i know thats not very helpful but just take your supplies and some time and dont be affraid to be creative.

Having one design which suits all just isnt practical, so mess around until you find a unique style which is "you".

Thats the best single piece of advice i can give and i appologise for not providing anything more in-depth, but im a dude and i dont wear make up, but as a dude i can assure you that the eyes are what stands out the most so this would be the biggest area to concerntrate on.
