Dreams and Broken Hearts

Dreams and Broken hearts
Dreams and broken hearts,
Slip through my fingers,
fall into the rain puddles,
the water turning red,
filled with blood,
As I fall to my knees dying,
with one last breath,
I say goodbye,
to world I have lived in.
Who knew that the sharp knife could end a life,
leaving one to die.
I see my life,
pass before my eyes.
The rain falling on my body as I lay on the forest floor.
Still alive, I wonder why I have not died.
Blood mixing with the rain,
falling on my skin,
sending chills down my spine.
As I look up at the sky,
I wonder who made the phrase: Shoot for the stars?
Why am I alive?
What is my reason to live?
I'm always alone,
standing on my own.
I see my dreams and broken heart on the forest floor in a rain puddle
